What this site collects about you, and what it doesn't.

Who runs this

I run this site on my own. If you have a question about your data, email me at [email protected].

What I collect

If you agree to analytics, I use Google Analytics to count visits. It tells me which pages you read, how you got here, roughly where you are (country or city), and what kind of device and browser you use.

It doesn't give me your name or your email address, and Google Analytics doesn't store your IP address. I can't tell who you are from it.

If you say no, Google Analytics doesn't run and no analytics cookies are set. You can change your answer at any time with "Cookie settings" at the bottom of every page.

Cookies

Google Analytics sets two cookies, _ga and one starting _ga_. They tell a returning visit from a new one, and they last up to two years. A cookie called cf_consent remembers your yes or no, so the site doesn't ask again on every page.

There are no advertising cookies. I've turned off Google's ad features and Google signals, so your visit isn't used to show you ads.

Why

To see which pages people read and where they come from, so I know what's worth writing. I only collect it with your consent, and you can take that back at any time.

Who else sees it

The site runs on Cloudflare, and Cloudflare's Zaraz loads Google Analytics and keeps your consent choice. Google processes the analytics data for me. Both may handle it in the United States, and both are certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework. I don't sell your data or share it with anyone else.

Analytics data is deleted after 14 months.

If you email me

I get your email address and whatever you write. I use it to reply, and to fix the site if you've told me about a mistake. I won't add you to a mailing list or pass your email on.

Your rights

You can ask me what I hold about you, or ask me to delete it. Email me and I'll answer within a month. You can also complain to the data protection authority where you live.

To block Google Analytics on every site, you can use Google's opt-out add-on.

Changes

If this changes, I'll update this page. Last updated 3 November 2026.
